URGO URGOTUL AG 15 CM X 20 CM

Descriptions
Urgo Urgotul Ag 15 cm x 20 cm is indicated for the local treatment of wounds with a risk of infection: chronic wounds (ulcers, pressure sores), acute wounds (2nd degree burns, dermabrasions, traumatic wounds, surgical wounds, etc.). Due to its non-adhesive nature, Urgotul Ag is recommended in the treatment of wounds with fragile perilesional skin. The specificity of Urgotul Ag TLC lies in the presence of a polymeric matrix which ensures the cohesion of hydrocolloid particles and vaseline on a polyester weft. On contact with exudates, the hydrocolloid particles (CMC) gel and form a lipid-colloid film in contact with the wound. The silver salts in Urgotul Ag gradually release silver ions on contact with exudates for contact antibacterial activity capable of reducing the local bacterial load of wounds at risk of infection. The silver ion has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial action, including Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and certain moulds and yeasts. It is particularly effective against the germs most often responsible for wound infection: Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus meti-R, Pseudomonas aeruginosa (pyocyanic bacillus). Urgotul Ag has demonstrated antibacterial activity in vitro for up to 7 days. The antibacterial activity of Urgotul Ag also reduces the odour caused by certain micro-organisms present in the wound. The Urgotul Ag interface is chemically fatty, but not greasy to the touch, so it does not adhere to the wound, making plaster changes painless for the patient and atraumatic for the wound. Flexible and highly conformable, Urgotul Ag conforms to the anatomical contours of the wound.

Directions for use
Clean the wound with saline. If you have previously used an antiseptic, rinse the wound thoroughly with saline before applying Urgotul Ag. Remove the protective wings from Urgotul Ag. Apply Urgotul Ag directly to the wound. Cover Urgotul Ag with a secondary plaster: sterile compresses held in place by a stretch band or multi-stretch plaster or tubular mesh. Renewals of Urgotul Ag will be carried out every 1 to 3 days depending on the wound treated and its clinical evolution.

Precautions for use
Treatment with Urgotul Ag will be carried out exclusively under medical supervision. Healthcare professionals should be aware that there is limited data on the prolonged and repeated use of silver plaster, particularly in children and neonates. In the absence of specific clinical data, the use of Urgotul Ag during pregnancy and lactation and on neonates and premature infants is not recommended. Urgotul Ag may adhere to surgical gloves (latex). It is therefore recommended that the gloves are moistened with physiological saline to facilitate the handling of Urgotul Ag in this case. Use in conjunction with other treatments is not recommended. Avoid contact of the plaster with electrodes or conductive gels during measurements using electronic equipment (EEG, ECG, etc.). Do not resterilise the plaster. Single-use sterile packaging: re-use of a single-use plaster may lead to a risk of infection. Store Urgotul Ag flat, away from moisture, light and heat (temperature below 25°C).

Contra-indications
Known sensitisation to silver or with other components of the plaster. Do not leave the plaster in place on the patient during nuclear magnetic resonance (MRI) examinations.
