URGO URGOCELL AG 10 CM X 12 CM
Descriptions
Urgo Urgocell Ag 10 cm x 12 cm are absorbent plasters based on lipido-colloid technology (TLC), an exclusive patented innovation from Urgo laboratories.
On contact with wound exudates, the hydrocolloid particles gel and form a lipido-colloid film with the vaselined component, which creates favourable conditions for the healing process (moist wound healing). In addition, the Ag ions contained in the lipido-colloid interface give Urgocell Ag contact antibacterial activity capable of reducing the local bacterial load in the event of a risk of infection and preventing a broad spectrum of antimicrobial action including Gram - and Gram + bacteria and certain moulds and yeasts. It is particularly effective against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus meti-R and streptococcus pyogenes, as well as Pseudomonas aeruginosa (bacillus pyocyanus), the germs most often responsible for wound superinfection. The plaster demonstrated antibacterial activity in vitro for 7 days. The anti-bacterial activity of the plaster reduces the odour caused by micro-organisms present in the wound.
The absorbent polyurethane foam pad ensures optimal drainage of exudates and bacteria. Micro-organisms absorbed by the pad are killed directly by the antibacterial Ag ions. This absorbent compress also prevents any maceration of the periwound skin. The backing is flexible, conformable and very comfortable. It allows the plaster to be adapted to the anatomical contours of the wound. Urgocell Ag can be cut with sterile material to adapt the size of the plaster to the wound if necessary.
Urgocell Ag is indicated for the local treatment of chronic wounds (ulcers, bedsores) and acute wounds (2nd degree burns, dermabrasions, traumatic wounds, surgical wounds, etc.). Due to its non-adhesive nature, the Urgocell Ag plaster is recommended in the treatment of wounds with fragile periwound skin.
Directions for use
Clean the wound according to the usual care protocol, then rinse with physiological saline solution. Remove the protective wings from the plaster. Place the Urgocell Ag plaster on the wound. Secure with a NylexFix type fixation bandage. Apply a compression bandage when prescribed. Due to its adhesive nature, Urgocell Ag Border does not need to be held in place with a Nylexfix type holding strip. The Urgocell Ag plaster should be renewed every 1 to 3 days, depending on the wound treated and its progress. The plaster increases in volume over time due to its exudate absorption capacity.
Precautions for use
Treatment with Urgocell Ag will be carried out exclusively under medical supervision. Use in conjunction with other local treatments is not recommended. Store Urgocell Ag flat, away from moisture, light and heat (temperature below 25° C). The use of Urgocell Ag plasters during pregnancy, breastfeeding, in neonates and premature babies has not been studied. Healthcare professionals should bear in mind that data on the prolonged and repeated use of silver plasters is poorly documented. Avoid contact with electrodes or conductive gels used for ECG or EEG. Single-use sterile packaging: re-use of a single-use plaster may lead to a risk of infection. Do not re-sterilise.
Contra-indications
Known sensitisation to silver or other components of the plaster. Do not leave the plaster in place on the patient during nuclear magnetic resonance (MRI) examinations.
Composition
Ready-to-use plasters, consisting of an interface combined with a thin absorbent pad and a white polyurethane backing coated with a high skin tolerance adhesive.
