URGO URGOSTART PLUS ABSORB 15 CM X 20 CM
Descriptions
Urgo Urgostart Plus Absorb 15 cm x 20 cm is indicated for covering and treating the following skin wounds:
- leg ulcers,
- diabetic foot wounds,
- bedsores,
- other wounds at risk of long-term healing, recurrent wounds or wounds at risk of delayed healing.
UrgoStart Plus Absorb is intended for use in all phases of wound healing, both on wounds covered in fibrin and on wounds covered in granulation tissue.
UrgoStart Plus Absorb must be held in place by a fixation system (e.g. medical adhesive tape, bandage, tubular mesh or adhesive plaster).
UrgoStart Plus Absorb is intended for adult patients, including in particular the elderly.
In the absence of specific data, UrgoStart Plus Absorb is not indicated in children or in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Directions for use
Prepare the wound according to the usual care protocol, respecting hygiene and aseptic conditions (disinfection of hands or washing with soap and water, or wearing sterile gloves). When detersion is deemed necessary, the use of UrgoStart Plus Absorb does not replace it. The wound may appear larger after detersion or fibrin removal. Dry the skin around the wound with a sterile compress. Check that the sachet has not been damaged. If so, use another one. Provide a suitable securing system (e.g. medical adhesive tape, tubular bandage or mesh). Open the sachet and take UrgoStart Plus Absorb.
UrgoStart Plus Absorb comprises several absorbent layers which must not be cut. Remove one of the two protective films, apply the plaster and remove the second protective film. Apply the previously prepared fixation system.
It is recommended to renew UrgoStart Plus Absorb every 1 to 2 days for wounds covered with fibrin, then adapt the frequency of renewal according to the clinical condition of the wound and the amount of exudate, not exceeding 7 days of application per plaster. It is recommended to continue treatment with UrgoStart Plus Absorb until complete wound healing.
Precautions for use
In the event of signs or symptoms of infection before or during the use of UrgoStart Plus Absorb (erythema, oedema, warmth, pain in the wound, fever, enlargement of the wound, odour coming from the wound or abundant exudates), consult a healthcare professional. If hyper-burgeoning occurs before or during the use of UrgoStart Plus Absorb, this should be reported to a healthcare professional. Do not resterilise the plaster.
