URGO URGOSORB 5 CM X 10 CM

Descriptions
Urgo Urgosorb 5 cm x 10 cm is a draining plaster based on calcium alginate and hydrocolloid particles for the detersion and healing of highly exudative wounds, haemostasis of acute or chronic haemorrhagic wounds. Available in 5 sizes: 5cm x 10cm, 10cm x 12cm, 10cm x 20cm, 5cm x 30cm.

Directions for use
1 - Preparing the wound: Clean the wound using the usual techniques. Dry the perimeter of the wound well with a sterile compress.

2a - Application of Urgosorb compress: Choose the size of Urgosorb so as to cover the wound with an overhang of healthy skin of 1 to 2cm. In the case of leg ulcers, the compress can be moistened opposite the wound with a saline solution. The high flexibility of Urgosorb allows it to conform immediately to the wound surface. Cover Urgosorb with a secondary dressing: double layer of compresses and loose tape or plaster.
2b - Application of Urgosorb wick: For tunnelled and deep wounds (crevice eschar, pilonidal sinus) apply Urgosorb wick loosely without exerting excessive pressure. In the case of leg ulcers, the compress facing the wound can be moistened with a saline solution. By gelling on contact with the exudates, Urgosorb wick will conform to the walls of the cavity.

3 - Monitoring and renewal: Urgosorb compress should be changed when saturated, particularly when exudate oozes through the secondary plaster. The frequency of renewal depends on the exudation of the wound: every day in the case of heavy exudate from a wound covered with fibrino-necrotic debris or infected to every 2 days in the case of moderate exudate from a clean wound. Remove the secondary plaster. The integrity of the plaster and gel allow easy removal of Urgosorb in one piece, without fragmentation. In leg ulcers, Urgosorb may be moistened with saline to facilitate removal.

Precautions for use
Non-resorbable, Urgosorb should not be used as an implantable surgical compress. Urgosorb should not be used at the stage of dry necrotic plaque, on poorly exuding wounds or on 3rd degree burns. Once the wound has been cleansed and exudate reduced, continue local treatment with Algoplaque. Do not use if the sterility protector has deteriorated. Shelf life: 3 years.
