Urgo Urgoclean Ag 15 cm x 20 cm is indicated for the local treatment of chronic exudative wounds (venous ulcers, pressure sores, diabetic foot ulcers) and acute wounds (burns, traumatic wounds, surgical wounds) at risk or with signs of local infection, from the detersion phase onwards.

Product benefits
The UrgoClean Ag plaster is a sterile non-woven compress, made from cohesive hydro-detersive poly-absorbent fibres with high absorption power (polyacrylate). This plaster uses thermobonding to bind the polyacrylate fibres arranged in a structured manner, parallel to the wound surface, which gives UrgoClean Ag its specific properties of absorption and drainage of residues from the wound, as well as its tensile strength. The hydro-detersive compress is covered with a micro-adherent healing matrix (TLC: Lipido-Colloid Technology) impregnated with silver. This TLC-Ag has an antibacterial action and gels easily, helping to drain fibrinous residues. It also makes the plaster easy to apply and remove.

Directions for use
- Preparing the wound: Clean the wound with saline solution. If you have previously used an antiseptic (unless antiseptics are contraindicated), rinse the wound thoroughly with physiological saline before applying the plaster. The use of UrgoClean Ag does not dispense with associated mechanical detersion when this is necessary. During cleansing, the wound may become larger as fibrinous tissue is gradually eliminated.

- Applying the plaster : Remove the protective wings. Apply the micro-adherent side of UrgoClean Ag to the wound and its contours. UrgoClean Ag can be cut with sterile scissors to adjust the size of the plaster to that of the wound if necessary. If necessary, cover UrgoClean Ag with a secondary plaster adapted to the location of the wound and the level of exudates. Secure with a fixation bandage. Apply a compression bandage when prescribed.

- Renewing the plaster : UrgoClean Ag plasters should be changed every 1-2 days during the wound detersion stage, and then as often as required (up to 7 days) depending on exudate volume and the clinical situation of the wound. The maximum duration of treatment with UrgoClean Ag is 1 month.

Precautions for use
Treatment with UrgoClean Ag should be carried out under medical supervision. The use of this plaster does not dispense with appropriate systemic antibacterial treatment for infected wounds, in accordance with local care protocols. The silver micro-adherent healing matrix (TLC-Ag) of UrgoClean Ag adheres to gloves preventing contact with the micro-adherent side or using sterile forceps. The concomitant use of other local treatments is not recommended. Avoid contact with electrodes or conductive gels during electronic measurements, such as EEG and ECG. Clinicians and healthcare professionals should be aware that there is limited data on the prolonged and repeated use of silver plaster, particularly in children and neonates. In the absence of specific clinical data, the use of UrgoClean Ag plaster during pregnancy, breastfeeding, in neonates as well as premature babies is not recommended. Individually packaged for single use. Reuse of a single-use plaster may lead to a risk of infection. Check the integrity of the sterility protector before use. Do not use if packaging is damaged. Do not re-sterilise. For disposal, refer to existing protocol. Discard all unused parts of the plaster.

Contra-indications
Known sensitisation to silver. UrgoClean Ag is not suitable as a surgical sponge for very bleeding wounds. Do not combine UrgoClean Ag with hydrogen peroxide, antiseptics of the organ-mercurial family or hexamidine. Do not leave the plaster in place on the patient during Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) examinations.
