Bausch + Lomb Ophtaxia Single Dose 10 x 5 ml is a sterile, ion-enriched, preservative-free buffered solution for eyewash.

Ophtaxia Single Dose is recommended for:
- hygiene of the eye and its appendages by irrigation or eye baths.
- Can be used daily by babies, children and adults.

Ophtaxia is an electrolyte-balanced solution. These electrolytes - potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium - are naturally present in tears. Potassium is highly concentrated because, along with sodium, it plays an essential role in maintaining osmolarity. The combination of sodium acetate and sodium citrate acts as a buffer. It adjusts and stabilises the solution at a pH of around 7 and an osmolarity of around 305 mosm, values similar to those found in tears, guaranteeing good tolerance over time with regard to the cornea and tear film, even if these elements are altered. The absence of preservatives reinforces safety of use by eliminating any potential cytotoxicity, which is always a possibility with such products. All these elements respect the integrity of the corneal epithelium.

Directions for use
1 to 6 washes or applications per day, as required. Wash hands thoroughly before use. Avoid touching the eye or eyelids with the single-dose container. As part of a combined treatment, do not instil a drop of Ophtaxia and eye drop(s) at the same time. Use Ophtaxia, solution for ophthalmic lavage either with a sterile compress, as a direct jet wash, or as an eye bath using a single-use sterile eyepiece which should be discarded after each use.

Precautions for use
When used as recommended, there are no known contraindications or side effects. Contact lens wearers are advised to remove their lenses before eyewashing. The single-dose container is for single use only. It should be discarded after use. Do not reuse a single-dose container that has already been opened and/or opened. Do not resterilise. Do not reuse after the expiry date. Do not use if damaged. If necessary, discard the single-use eyecup after use. Sterilisation by filtration. Do not freeze. Do not freeze.
