Virbac VT Phak Eye Drops 5 ml is an eye drop against ageing of the crystalline lens in dogs and cats.

Properties
- Throughout the animal's life, the crystalline lens is subject to oxidative stress linked to the production of free radicals induced by exposure to the UV rays of sunscreen and produced by cellular metabolism.
- These free radicals are permanently inactivated by various antioxidant systems, in which reduced glutathione plays a major role.
- With age, the quantity of glutathione decreases and the performance of these anti-free radical systems declines. Cytochrome C is a powerful antioxidant, capable of neutralising H2O2 and certain hydroperoxides, as well as the superoxide ion and the hydroxyl radical. It therefore limits the harmful effects of free radicals.
- Boric acid and its sodium salt help to limit microbiological proliferation.
- Vitamin PP (precursor of the NAD and NADP coenzymes), and glycine (amino acid required for glutathione synthesis) play an essential role in glutathione regeneration.

Directions for use
Local use. Dogs and cats: instil 1 drop into each eye 2 times a day. To prevent contamination of the solution, avoid contact of the bottle with the eye or skin. Use preferably 20 days a month. Ask your veterinary surgeon for advice.

Precautions for use
Keep out of reach of children. After opening, keep refrigerated and use within 3 weeks. Close the bottle tightly after each use.
