BIOCODEX ULTRA-BABY 14 STICKS

Descriptions
Biocodex Ultra-Baby 14 Sticks is a foodstuff intended for special medical purposes for the nutritional needs of children from birth, in the event of acute diarrhoea, including when taking antibiotics.

Directions for use
1 to 2 stick(s) per day. Ultra-Baby is to be mixed into a drink (milk, water) or a food suitable for the child (compote, yoghurt, small pot). If feeding from a baby bottle, allow the bottle to cool before pouring in the contents of the stick. Ultra-Baby can be mixed with oral rehydration solutions. Do not mix with hot food or drink.

Precautions for use
It cannot be administered parenterally. Ultra-Baby should be used under medical supervision. It is intended for infants and young children. It should not be used as the sole source of nutrition. It is intended to be used in addition to food or oral rehydration solutions. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if the situation does not improve within 48 hours. It is recommended not to open the sticks in the environment of patients with a central venous catheter, to avoid any colonisation of the catheter, particularly by hand. Very rare cases of fungemia have been reported, mainly in patients with central venous catheters, seriously ill patients or immunodeficient patients, often resulting in fever. In all cases, however, these incidents have resolved favourably following antifungal treatment and, where appropriate, removal of the catheter.

Contra-indications
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to one of the constituents and intolerance to glucose or galactose; in patients with a central venous catheter, in a critical or immunodeficient state, due to the risk of fungemia or septicaemia.
